Daft.ie mobile apps nominated for eirSpider award

We’re delighted to announce that our mobile apps have been nominated for an eirSpider award in the “Best use of mobile technology” category.

Our “Nearby place and Streetview” features have made the grade in what is widely seen as the Irish digital industry oscars.Emer O’Connor our Mobile Product Manager explains: “Nearby Places is a project developed exclusively by Daft.  Providing our users with key information they require in their search for the perfect home is a key strategic focus for Daft.”

“Searching for your own place, whether you’re renting or buying, can be time-consuming and stressful.  Budget aside, location is a key factor in our customer’s property searches.”

“With Streetview and Nearby Places, Daft has leveraged and then customized the native location features of Android and iOS to help people visualize – at a property level – the surrounding neighborhood, available transport (including Dublin bikes) and educational (including crèche) places. Property searchers are now better able to inform themselves about whether to view a property – without ever needing to leave the Daft app.  The result is a far more rewarding user experience in app whilst searching for a property.”

The eir Spiders awards hosted by Panti Bliss will take place on the 30th of November in Dublin.
