Hot property: Dublin residents spend three times the national average viewing property online
Each person in Dublin, spends on average 37 minutes every month viewing property online, according to new research from Ireland’s No.1 property website, Daft.ie.
The analysis, which looked at the average monthly time spent per person per county on Daft.ie, revealed that collectively the nation spent the equivalent of just over 200 years – or 109 million minutes – viewing property online.
Those living in the capital spend over three times the national average of 12 minutes, while Cork comes in a distant second with a total property browsing time of 13 minutes per person per month.
The viewing statistics are part of a string of announcements by Daft.ie which is now reporting over 11.2 million visits to the site every month.
Enquiries to Estate Agents and developers from ads listed also hit a new high with the property website now delivering twice as many as enquiries compared to just two years ago.
In February alone, properties worth a combined value of €1.4 billion were listed on Daft.ie with Estate Agents placing a total of over 4,250 sales ads during the month.
Co.Waterford had the highest number of new sales listings with 71, while Swords in Dublin had the highest concentration (46) of new listings in the capital.
Commenting on the figures, Daft.ie’s Martin Clancy said: “The beginning of each year is usually a very busy time for property-hunters but the scale of these stats highlights that 2018 has gotten off to a bumper start for Daft.ie. On average, we are now seeing over 1,000 property searches taking place every minute on Daft.ie.”
