Ireland’s Got Talent
€100,000 Target as ‘Ireland’s Got Talent’ Event Looms.
A charity initiative by property consultants Savills is aiming to raise over €100,000 for Focus Ireland and the Marie Curie Hospice.
‘Ireland’s Got Talent’ is a series of talent show fundraisers in Dublin, Cork and Belfast, with a similar format to the reality TV show, Britain’s Got Talent. Over 1,000 people are expected to show up at the Ballsbridge Hotel in Dublin and the Clarion Hotel in Cork on the 5th November, and the Europa Hotel in Belfast on the 19th November, to watch up to 50 variety acts perform live.
A number of high-profile Irish personalities are lending their support to this years’ event. Baz Ashmawy from the hit Sky One show ‘50 Ways to Kill Your Mammy’ and Dublin rose Aisling Finnegan will feature on a four-person judging panel at the Dublin event hosted by former Miss Ireland and RTE presenter Pamela Flood.
In Cork, Red FM DJ ‘KC’ will introduce a variety of acts hoping to impress the judging panel. In Belfast, local celebrity and Cool FM DJ Pete Snodden will MC the night along with Belfast’s Chamber of Commerce President Hugh Black.
Gavin Butler of Savills commented;
“The idea for Ireland’s Got Talent originated from our Belfast office in 2013 and due to its success, a decision was made to expand the event to Dublin and Cork. Last year we raised over €60,000 for cancer charities throughout the island of Ireland and this year we are looking to emulate that figure by targeting an ambitious but achievable figure of €100,000 for Focus Ireland and the Marie Curie Hospice.
“It’s important to note that this event is not just for those associated with the property industry; it is open to anyone that would like to showcase their talent for two very worthy causes. In addition, we would encourage any businesses or individuals looking to attend an event to book their place as soon as possible.”
